Improve the wellbeing of people

By 2022, 85% of our employees feels that he/she will be working in a safe and healthy working environment and will be satisfied with the working conditions we provide.

Working environment  

Improved employee satisfaction
Our annual employee satisfaction survey shows that 87.4% feels LC creates a healthy and safe working environment and 80.6% is satisfied with the working conditions we provide. In both areas the satisfaction level increased by approx. 11% compared to 2016.

SA 8000 recertification
In 2017 our FIBC production location in Bangladesh was SA 8000 recertified, thanks to its extensive efforts in corporate social responsibility. In Bangladesh, our production location is one of only four SA 8000 certified manufacturers.

As a proud member of the UN Global Compact, we do our utmost to provide safe, healthy and satisfying working conditions. Two exciting new developments:

By 2022, we will have created at least 300 additional high quality full-time jobs in developing countries.

Our aim is to stimulate economic growth by creating at least 300 additional high quality full time jobs in developing countries. In 2017 we made preparations to open a new FIBC production location in Bangladesh, providing the local community with another 500 to 600 jobs. Our production location in South Africa also completed phase one of its capacity extension programme. An entire shift was added to the staffing complement, resulting in 65 new jobs.

By 2022, 80% of our employees will be satisfied with the internal development opportunities provided by LC Packaging.

Don’t waste talent!
One of our areas of focus is identifying and nurturing talent, and creating beneficial opportunities for personal development at all levels of the company. This is why we invest in training sessions and courses. In 2017, 50% of our employees completed an external training session, compared to 20% in 2016.

Community development

Next to activities initiated by our employees and volunteer work to support local communities, in January 2017, LC Packaging founded LC Supports Foundation. The purpose of the foundation is to contribute to the improvement of the environment and well-being of communities in which LC Packaging operates. Projects contribute to the Global Sustainable Development Goals, set by the United Nations. In 2017 we rolled up our sleeves and supported some wonderful projects.
