Laser printable baxmatic bags
In collaboration with Eqraft, a developer of packaging solutions, LC Packaging developed the baxmatic bag laser printer and laser printable bags. Customers experienced challenges during the process of packing bags. So we developed a new labelling system, which engraves images or text directly on bags with lasers. No need to change tape, tickets or ink ribbons. This prevents many unnecessary delays and decreases costs. Moreover, the new system is a sustainable solution, since there is no stock needed and less waste of materials.

Innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand. An example of innovation that is both a practical and a sustainable solution:

Innovations

2022

By 2022, sustainability will be fully integrated in our innovation processes, leading to sustainable operations and packaging solutions.

Our contributions
Our commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as set by the United Nations:

According to the UN, each year 1.3bn tonnes of food, about a third of all that is produced, is wasted. A fair part is already wasted during storage and transportation. As a packaging producer, we feel we can actively contribute to solutions reducing the waste of these valuable food products.

Stop the Rot: Ventilated packaging
Our patented LC Vento Jute Bag prevents for example seed potatoes from sweating and rotting in transit. This bag and the ventilated big bag, both developed in-house by LC Packaging, are literally a breath of fresh air and prevent unnecessary waste of valuable products.

Food safe and pharma clean packaging
Food and pharma safety crises or outbreaks can be considered an enormous threat to people’s health, but they can also lead to an enormous waste of valuable products. In 2017 we launched our Food Safe & Pharma Clean Assurance Programmes, offering these industries the cleanest and safest packaging that meets the highest industry standards, produced in our state-of-the-art cleanroom facilities.

Sustainable solutions

2022

By 2022, we will have significantly reduced the waste of (food) products during storage and transport in our packaging.

Our contributions
Our commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as set by the United Nations:

FIBCs can be
reused up to
6 times

Our jute bags
are 100%
biodegradable

80% of our produced cardboard is made of recycled paper

Specialised agencies
With the help of specialised agencies, we are looking into sustainably breaking down packaging waste back to its core and contributing to a circular economy.

Recycling project Bangladesh
In 2017 we started a first-of-its-kind waste recycling project in Bangladesh in which used plastics, e.g. waste plastics from our FIBC production location, are collected to be recycled and processed into value adding products: PP granulates.

Together with our stakeholders, we have been actively looking into possibilities to minimise waste during the production of our packaging, as well as the waste of packaging materials after use. Two of our initiatives:

2018

Sustainable materials

2022

By 2022, we will have minimised the waste associated with our packaging

We are determined to improve the lifecycle of our packaging products one step at the time.
